In conjunction with The Dorchester Directory and The Angel Cake Co, we are proud to provide the Thanks A Bunch scheme whereby we recognise members of the local community who's work (mostly volunteer) truly goes beyond-the-call-of-duty, and reward them for everything they do. Voters and nominees must live within 10 miles of Dorchester for their vote to count. A winner is drawn from the pot every three months and they will receive a beautiful bouquet of seasonal flowers and an exquisite 'Thank You' cake, presented by Alistair Chisholm, Dorchester's infamous town crier. Our October winner was Sue McCarthy-Moore of Stitchinghouse Design, Pummery Sq, Poundbury; "She is a wonderful friend to many, deeply kind and caring with a ready sense of humour, getting along with all kinds of people and helping them through tough times. She also gets involved in local charity work. A blessing to everyone who knows her." Our March winner was Mary Rousell ... who is renowned within Dorchester for her amazing work with NCH, as well as being a junior Church Teacher at Dorchester United Church, and helping with the Baden-Powell Trading Post and South Shore Lodge on Brownsea Island ..... the list goes on ..... a truly deserving winner! Thanks a Bunch, Mary! You can place a vote for a truly deserving person here - simply fill in the form below and click Send. Entrants who are not drawn from the pot each month will remain in there so you won't need to keep re-voting for them, and they are sure to win sooner or later! Thank you for your participation. |
