The Poundbury Florist

The Poundbury Florist is the business-baby of Jessie Copper. Opened in August 2006, 25yr-old Jessie was determined to offer a higher standard and variety of floristry to the local area. Living at that time in Prince Charles' brain-child village of Poundbury on the outskirts of Dorchester in Dorset, Jessie felt that there was a definite call for a florist who offered ingenuity and inspiration with their flowers, as well as a wide range of unusual and super-fresh blooms.

The floristry boutique that has resulted is the epitome of style and elegance. The shop is open-plan offering customers the opportunity to watch as the floral displays are put together, and with it's airy feel (twelve windows in all!) and endless selections of vases, cards, gifts and - of course - flowers, there is always something new to see.

In 2007, just as it completed its first year of trading, The Poundbury Florist won the Silver Award in the Flower Council of Holland's UK Flower Shop of The Year competition. A spectacular achievement at such an early stage, The Poundbury Florist has continued to go from strength to strength and looks forward to trying for Gold in 2010.

Our flowers
Our range of fresh flowers is constantly changing and with it our imagination! We pride ourselves on creating a unique display for every customer ... after all, variety is the spice of life particularly when you are being artistic. We search constantly for new varieties and colour-ways in all our flower types and rarely stock the same thing two weeks in a row - as a small shop we may only have 4 or 5 rose/lily varieties available at any given time but they will almost always be a new or unusual colour that you may never have seen before! We also believe in and stock a wide variety of foliages ... after all, you must have space between the flowers for the butterflies!

Even our wrapping is stylish - we never use poly-tear ribbons for our bows, but instead use a Hessian jute material or a fabric bow from our selection of voile, crushed satin and be-jewelled ribbons. Our gift cards are beautifully embossed hand-printed folding cards as standard ... so be assured, at The Poundbury Florist, you'll only get the best!
